I am a high school automotive technology instructor for South-Western City Schools. I began teaching at Columbus State Community College as an adjunct instructor in 1994. In 1995, I began teaching full time for SWCS.

 

My auto tech program is ASE Education Foundation accredited under the MLR standards. You can visit the district's site for the Career Academy here.

 

I am currently an ASE Master Automobile Technician. In addition, I also have ASE MLR and L1 advanced engine performance specialist certifications. 

Since 2007, I have worked for Cengage Learning as a

contributor and author. Projects include:

NORTH AMERICAN COUNCIL OF AUTOMOTIVE TEACHERS

 

I am a Past president of NACAT, past board member, and vice-president/president elect. 

 

NACAT is the only organization devoted to the teachers and trainers of automotive education. Each year NACAT holds its training conference where automotive instructors can attend and receive the 20 hours of technical training required for NATEF accreditation. 

 

In addition to receiving the 20 hours of training, the NACAT conference also has numerous family activities during the week. These include a BBQ night, a banquet recognizing the members and their accomplishments, and other family activities that vary depending on the location of the conference.
